Question 1

What is a barndominium?

Accepted Answer

A barndominium is a building that combines living space with barn-style or metal building construction. Many include open floor plans, and some combine a home with shop, garage or storage space under one roof.

Question 2

What services do you offer?

Accepted Answer

We build barndominiums, garage conversions, garages, workshops, pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) and light-gauge / cold-formed steel structures. We also offer concrete foundations and design services, either as part of a project or on their own.

Question 3

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Templeton, CA and serve communities within about 40 miles, including Paso Robles, Atascadero, Santa Margarita, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay, Cambria and Los Osos. If you're nearby and not sure, just ask.

Question 4

Are quotes free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Requesting a quote is free. Send us the details of your project through the quote form or give us a call.

Question 5

How does the process work?

Accepted Answer

It starts with a conversation about your project. From there we move through design and planning, foundation work, construction with regular communication, and a final walkthrough of the finished project together.

Question 6

What do your design services involve?

Accepted Answer

Our design services help shape the layout and scope of your building before construction begins, so the finished structure fits how you plan to use it.

Question 7

What do your concrete foundation services involve?

Accepted Answer

We provide concrete foundation work for barndominiums, garages, workshops and metal buildings. Foundation work can be part of a full project or a standalone service.

Question 8

What's the difference between a pre-engineered metal building and light-gauge steel?

Accepted Answer

A pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) uses a primary steel frame system designed for the specific building, which allows wide, open interior spans. Light-gauge or cold-formed steel uses steel studs, joists and trusses formed from thin sheet steel, and is often used in a similar way to wood framing for walls, roofs and smaller structures.

Question 9

Can you work from my own plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you already have plans or drawings, let us know in your quote request and we'll review them as part of the conversation.

Question 10

Can I send photos or plans with my request?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The quote form lets you upload photos of your property or existing plans and drawings, which helps us understand your project.
